Look at me, running a contest! Any shameless way to get some comments on this blog! Plus it just sounds so fun. Swistle is running a group Pay it Forward contest, where we all put up a contest today and end on Friday. You comment to enter, I use a random generator to choose a winner, and you get a box of goodies in the mail. If you win, you promise to host a contest of your own soon and give away stuff to someone else. If you don't have a blog, I will host a second contest in your name here and you can send stuff to the winner. It will be much fun, and who doesn't love free stuff?
I am not sure what all your fabulous gift package will include. Being that I am Daycare Girl, it is likely to include some small things suitable to give to your child and/or make you feel childish again your own self- perhaps play-doh or a coloring book. It will also include a book from my library, chosen by you, and snacks, and I don't know... other good stuff. Not to worry. You will enjoy it. And whatever you don't enjoy, you can stick in the box for your winner, right?
To enter, you must leave a comment and tell me what your favorite childhood toy was, or the thing your kids/niecephews/whoever are currently enjoying most.
Good luck! And make sure you go over to Swistle's place because there are a ton of these contests running and you can enter them ALL!

My favorite toys were my dolls and anything that could be used for arts and crafts. My nephews (aged 8 and 5) are currently enjoying anthing that can be used to bludgeon the other.
My favourite toy was my record player. My brother and I used to dance around the basement to that kids pop group...why can't I remember the name? Anyway, my son's favourtie toy by a landslide is Lego.
hmmmm...tie between my tape/cd player and paper and pen for myself. My boys love the play with the hose and the sprinkler outside. We are a soggy bunch these summer days.
I love contests! I don't remember really playing with toys as a kid. (Short term memory!) I remember playing outside a lot on the swingset and trampoline. At the moment the favorite toys of the kiddos are puzzles and cars.
My son's favorite toys right now are cars and trucks and play doh ... good lord, the play doh ...
My favorite toy was a toss up between a hula hoop, Easy Bake oven and my bicycle. Loved them all. My son's is anything to do with swimming, as in his flippers.
Currently, my son's favorite toy is a small McQueen car from the disney movie Cars. It was a gift, and so help me god if he loses it!!
I loved dolls. I still love dolls. My boys, don't love dolls so much. They love hotwheels. They have 1000's of them.
I loved Barbies and played with them maybe even after I was a leeetle too old for them.
anything that could be quantified as an "art supply!" my sister and i used to put stuff like "pens" and "paper clips" on our xmas wish lists.. our aunts and uncles basically thought we were abused ;-)
I teach 5th grade and they would love the goodies! :) Count me in! My favorite toy was my dirt bike...I was such a tomboy!
Barbies were by far my favorite toys growing up.
Easy Bake Oven. Etch-A-Sketch. The giant pile of sand that was in our driveway when my dad was enclosing the carport and putting in a brick floor.
My Strawberry Shortcake doll went a long way!!
Sorry-- here is my comment: My favorite toy was a doll named Beth. I got her when I was three, and I still have her. She was well-loved. My little man's current favorite would have to be anything to do with art. He loves it, and it is taking over the apartment. He begs for new art supplies every time we go to the store.
My favorite toy growing up had to be my Lincoln Logs...
My sister and I loved to play with baby dolls. We'd play "escape from the orphanage" and climb out the bathroom window with all of the dollies. (We loved watching Annie.)
I used to love playing with my stuffed animals, especially a little skunk that I named flower. Now my kids have WAY too many stuffed animals, but they love them all, too.
Do roller skates count as a toy? That used to be my favorite thing to do when I was a kid.
I loved lite brites and playing house with my dolls.
Crafty things were my favorites, M is digging the megablocks, since she just figured out how to use them.
The current favorite toys around here are most definitely Planet Heroes. We can NOT get enough of the Planet Heroes.
My favorite childhood toy was a lil mini piano :) I used to make up songs with it.
I had a Fisher Price barn and when you closed the doors, it made a moooo. I loved that mooo.
My favourites were always books. We're Going on a Bear Hunt, and Possum Magic.
I was always bored with toys and preferred my record or cassette player. My kiddos love anything art related or interactive. The boy definitely favors trucks and cars while the girl hasn't made a preference, outside of her blankie known yet.
I was a stuffed animal kind of kid. I loved these best. And my eldest is still in love with his Quack-Quack at the ripe old age of 7. But my littlest is a story kid. Loves his books.
I'm told my favorite small child toy was a rubber elephant. But from what I can remember myself, it was our horses. They weren't really "toys" but they occupied 90% of my time and fun.
EZ Bake Oven. No contest.
I loved to play with my toy horses. Oh, and Legos!
My favorite was my dollhouse. My grandmother had it made for me when she was remodeling, so it had the same wallpaper and carpets.
I was a Barbie girl. Loved them.
My kids enjoy anything that isn't an actual toy, especially electronics - my blackberry, cell phone, remote control. etc. :)
My oldest daughter loves her CD player and singing along with HSM songs.
My son loves Rescue Heroes and cars.
My youngest is only 5 weeks old so not into toys yet!
CABBAGE PATCH KIDS!
My favorite toys were my books (reading and then playing librarian or school) and our playhouse (many hours reenacting Little House on the Prairie.)
My ten month old loves chewing books, throwing balls and her piano.
my favorite toy: legos.
my kids favorite toy (currently): trucks, cars, anything with wheels (and books are a constant). :)
I love that my grandson Andrew's favorite toy at my house is an old fashioned tin top. The kind where you push the handle up and down and it spins around. It is so refreshing that they don't all sit and play games that you use your thumbs to manipulate!!
I don't know that it really counts as a "toy", but I loved books as a child (I still do!).
My favorite toys were actually school supplies--anything that helped me play school!
I loved to platy for hours with simple wooden blocks. I loves the shapes and the tall towers I would construct. I still think they are awesome and way better than all of those noisy one's that kids are addicted to now.
Mine were any kind of doll, but especially Strawberry Shortcake.
I was a pretty big fan of my little ponies!
Favorite toys? Hmmm...dolls. Barbies, cabbage patch kids, etc. Followed closely by books. Still loves those.
Strawberry Shortcake dolls. And books.
I liked things I could make. Two favorites that pop into mind are a wood burning kit and an erector set.
Books, notebooks, and fancy pens. Hmmm. . . which are still mt favorite toys.
My 1 year old loves his fat little board books, especially the Sandra Boynton ones.
I loved my easy bake oven!!!
My favorite childhood toy was the pogo ball!
I guess I would say Barbie, even though My little pony is a very close 2nd.
I loved the lite brite!
Hmmmm, my favorite toy was a record player I got when I was about 6 or so. It played 45 and 33 speed records and I loved it!
My son loves books and a fake vacuum cleaner. I'm hoping to transition him to the real thing very soon.
I think the FP medical kit.
My kids love Hubby's enormous collection of Legos. We're talking an obscenely huge collection here. Playmobil toys are also pretty popular.
My favorite toy was a stuffed pink teddy bear that an aunt made for me. My son's favorite toys right now are his John Deere tractor set, Little People sets, and his felt pizza from Shannon that I just blogged about.
